Ara supplies pulp from British Columbia which has an abundant supply of the world's best species for pulps: Douglas-fir, western hemlock and western red cedar.
Wood pulp is the chief raw material of paper and a basic element in a host of other products. The pulping process can be categorized into mechanical and chemical processes. The raw material fibre is classified into two categories - softwood and hardwood. Softwoods have longer fibres than hardwoods and thus produces paper with greater tear and tensile strength required for the manufacture of fine paper. For manufacturing paper and board, the type of mixture of pulp employed will determine the character of the finished product.
Ara can supply pulp for many and varied end uses. Pulps made from long-fibre softwood chips are world renowned for their quality. Ara has the ability to meet changing market demands and can supply customized specialty, dissolving and kraft pulps to meet customers' exact specifications.
Customized, dissolving, specialty and kraft pulps, obtained by blending different species of wood, are available through Ara for a wide variety of applications.
